VASA’S RACQUETBALL AREA
INCLUDED IN FITNESS AND STUDIO MEMBERSHIPS
Racquetball is a popular activity that fosters both social interaction and a good sweat. The courts are set up with three walls, and players use a rubber ball and small racquets to hit the ball back and forth against the wall. You can play alone, against another player, or in doubles with up to four people. VASA Fitness offers multiple racquetball courts at various locations, so you can grab a buddy or go alone and get in a fun and effective workout!
BENEFITS OF RACQUETBALL
CARDIOVASCULAR MEETS COORDINATION
Racquetball offers emotional and physical health benefits. Because you can play with other people, racquetball fosters social interaction which is good for the body, brain, and soul. Physically, the fast-paced game gets your heart pumping and your feet moving, offering an excellent cardiovascular workout. On average, you can cover more than two miles in a 60-minute game. Additionally, the hand-eye coordination needed to effectively use your racquet helps strengthen your balance, reflexes, and flexibility.
HOW TO USE A RACQUETBALL COURT
MINIMAL EQUIPMENT. MAXIMUM FUN.
Before playing, make sure you do a proper warm up. Work out tight muscles by spending a few minutes on the foam roller. Then move to a series of dynamic stretches followed by light cardio-based movements (think jumping jacks, air squats, and walking lunges) to slowly elevate your heart rate. Once you’re warmed up, grab your equipment—racquet and ball—and head to an open court. Once inside, be sure to close the door to keep your balls inside the court. Spend five to 10 minutes at an easy pace, lightly hitting the ball against the front wall and, if you’re playing with a friend, volleying back and forth. Once you’re warmed up, determine the rules of your game and play on!
