Basketball is an excellent way to work out without actually feeling like you’re working out. It’s playful nature means you can enjoy the benefits of exercise while having fun and socializing with friends and other VASA members. Running, throwing, catching, and shooting help engage all the body’s major muscle groups, including the brain. Work on your physical fitness while improving your concentration and mental acuity. And because it’s indoors, you can play year-round. Rain or shine, our courts are open to you.

Basketball-centric movements like dribbling, pivoting, shooting, and passing benefit hand-eye coordination, refine fine motor skills and improve balance.
HOW TO USE THE BASKETBALL COURT

Pick up a basketball from the front desk when you get to VASA. Once you’re on the court, do some warm-up drills—like high knees, butt kicks, and arm circles. Once your body’s warm, practice your dribbling skills or shoot from various spots on the court. Work on layups, free throws, and three pointers. Want to put your skills to the test? Join a pick-up game or start one with a few friends.
