Cycle classes are an excellent way to work out while having fun. The dim lights, beat-driven music, and incredible group energy turn exercise into a party. This low-impact, high-energy exercise is timed to the beat of the music and the rhythm will lead you through class. The instructor will be your guide, but you can customize the intensity to your fitness level for a personalized workout to help you crush your goals.

Cycling offers a variety of health benefits. It’s low impact, which means the stress on joints and bones is minimal, making it a great option for those with injuries and an excellent cross-training exercise for runners. Cycle classes help boost your cardiovascular endurance and stamina by increasing your heart rate for an extended period. Pedaling with resistance and at various speeds along with utilizing light weights for upper movements helps strengthen the entire body and all major muscle groups. Balancing on the bike as you ride utilizes a lot of core strength and promotes good posture and coordination. As your body generates endorphins throughout the cycle class, you’ll leave feeling refreshed, with lower levels of stress and anxiety.
HOW TO PREPARE FOR A CYCLE CLASS
BE READY TO SWEAT AND HAVE FUN
Prior to a cycle class, be sure to hydrate with water—you’ll be having fun and breaking a good sweat! Wear shorts or form fitting pants (loose pants could get caught in the pedals). Some people prefer to wear padded shorts, but those are not required. Opt for a comfortable top and sneakers or cycle shoes (our bikes are outfitted with SPD clips). Don’t forget a water bottle and towel, too. Once you’re in class, your instructor can help you set up your bike to ensure the seat is at the correct height and your handlebars are at a comfortable distance. You’ll increase and decrease resistance using the knob just below the handlebars. Once you’re set up with your bike, your instructor will guide you through the class, queuing you to increase or decrease resistance and speed. Most importantly, have fun and enjoy the ride!
