Homemade Cleaner for Spring Cleaning

If you haven’t done it yet, you’ll likely get the urge to begin your spring cleaning soon! Here are a couple recipes for homemade cleaners, made with natural, chemical-free ingredients so you can avoid using store-bought cleaners. Save money and kick off spring with a fresh clean by making your own cleaners today! 

 

 

 

Household Cleaner 

 

INGREDIENTS 

  • Glass Spray Bottle 
  • ½ cup white vinegar 
  • 10 drops of your favorite essential oil scent (Try lemon, orange, lavender, peppermint, or eucalyptus) 

DIRECTIONS 

  1. Use a funnel to pour the ½ cup of vinegar into your glass spray bottle, then fill the rest with water.  
  1. Carefully put 10 drops of your favorite essential oils into the bottle. You can even mix a few scents to create your own unique scent!  
  1. Once it’s all in the bottle, put the lid back on, and gently shake.  
  1. Use this cleaner on your counters or other surfaces in your home. Avoid using on granite or stainless steel.

 

 

Shower and Bathroom Cleaner 

 

INGREDIENTS 

  • Glass Spray Bottle 
  • ½ cup white vinegar 
  • 3 Tbsp dish soap

DIRECTIONS 

  1. Use a funnel to pour the 1/2 cup of white vinegar into your spray bottle, then fill the rest with water.  
  1. Pour 3 tablespoons of dish soap (check out some of the all-natural options linked below).  
  1. Put your spray bottle top back on and gently shake.  
  1. This cleaner works great in your shower to clean hard water or grime! You can also add a little more dish soap and use with a kitchen scrubber for tougher spots.
