This journey has been long, hard, emotional, exciting, and invigorating. It’s been a rollercoaster for sure!! I was an obese, depressed, shy, insecure, unhappy, and unhealthy woman who was always putting herself on the back burner. Throughout this transformation I’ve learned to love myself, gained confidence, became more outgoing, found an amazing passion, and made the changes necessary to live my best life! This amazing journey is never ending, there will always be areas that need improvement and I’m more than willing to do what needs to be done no matter how hard it is.

Starting personal training at VASA Fitness has been the best investment I have made for myself so far. The guidance and coaching has been instrumental for my success, and let me explain why; I started this journey obese, tired, with low self esteem and an old injury. I was completely clueless and intimidated but focused and determined. Stephen cared and dedicated himself to help me reach my goals. He always minded my old injuries and tailored our sessions with that (and my goals) in mind. He insisted on proper form, and a healthy diet. He even made sure I was drinking enough water and sleeping enough! And then came Frankie, my gosh! This women has so much wisdom and knowledge of routines and proper form, and her workouts are always challenging and fun. I have to keep reminding her that I am only a merely mortal, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. She has an aura that motivates me without having to say a word. She inspires me, and her coaching has made me stronger, confident and even more determined. One day I will have arms like hers, I swear it!

I can’t really begin to describe how different my life was 8 months ago. I remember meeting Stephen for the first time and feeling this compassion and comfort from his presence as well as motivation. I felt so sick and tired every day at that point, and I was tired of it. I had started to change my diet but I knew I needed to start the journey to learn how to workout so that I could change my body. Little did I know that my body wasn’t going to be the only thing changing. I have had so many obstacles in my life these past months. I work in healthcare full time , am a single mom to two boys, and am enrolled in school. Stephen was one of the big reasons I kept going during those hard moments though. He not only is an inspiring and talented trainer with his workout routines that he builds, but he’s also this amazing friend that pushed me with kindness yet strength when I needed it most. Sometimes in life we need people along the uphill journey because during those moments that we are about to give up, they remind us of how far we’ve come. This is a lifestyle change, and a marathon. Losing 40 pounds is no easy task, but the confidence and self love that develops because of the discipline and habits that we build during it make it so worth while. My energy and self confidence has forever been changed and this isn’t even close to the end of my journey. I am forever grateful for having the chance to train with Stephen and for his support through it all! This will be a year I will always remember when life throws other things my way.

As I got closer to thirty, and life threw me a couple curve balls. I decide that I should invest in my health. I’ve always been a go to the gym do cardio and walk around type of gal. And then I met my saving grace Stephen. The first months were brutal. My body was constantly sore and I would look at him like he is insane if I can do that. But now he tells me his insane plan and I am let’s do it. One of the best things I have achieve beside being in the best shape ever is that moment of peace that one feels after a tough workout. I know that regardless my mental state I will always feel peace at VASA.
