What is the fitness cliff?

January is notably known as the month for “goal setting” and “resolutions”, because it marks the beginning of a brand-new year and a fresh start. But, just like January is the goal setting month, February is known for goal ditching! At the gym we usually see a decline in visits the second week of February, so the second Thursday of the month is when our Fitness Cliff at VASA is! We want to help all of our #VAWESOME members get over this February speed bump, and help you develop a long term healthy lifestyle! Here are some of our tips on how you can stay on track this month:

Start small and set realistic goals

There is no shame in taking baby steps towards a healthy lifestyle! Don’t burn yourself out, pace yourself and enjoy your time in the gym! If you need some extra tips on goal setting, we found an interesting article on that HERE.

Find a Work Out Partner

Having someone who has the same (or relatively similar) health and fitness goals as you, is a giant motivator! By having a gym partner, you will always have someone encouraging you and helping you to stay on track even on the days you don’t want to be! In return, you can help motivate and keep them accountable as well.

Consider Personal Training

If you are feeling unmotivated and bored at the gym, a personal trainer will help with that! They can give you guidance and motivation that you might not even know that you needed. Even a fitness assessment by a trainer could point you in the direction that you need to go! Curious about VASA’s trainers? Go HERE for bios, testimonials and more!

Here is an interview of one of our #VAWESOME trainers, talking about how to stick with your New Year’s Resolutions:
