Summer is in full swing and we are ready to live by the pool and grill all our food. Not only is grilling fun and delicious but there are so many ways to get creative! Move over hamburgers and hot-dogs because these kebabs are sure to be a fan favorite and keep everyone coming back for more. Use these recipes for a party, gathering, or just to switch up your dinner routine! 

 

Marinated Steak and Veggie Kebabs

 

Ingredients:
  • 1 ½ pound sirloin steak or tri-tip
  • 3 bell peppers
  • 1 onion
Marinade:
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tsp dry parsley
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
Directions:
  1. Cut the steak and veggies into 1-2 inch pieces.
  2. Mix marinade ingredients together in a large bowl. Pour half of the marinade in a second bowl.
  3. Add beef to the large bowl and let marinate for 1-3 hours.
  4. Dip veggies in the second bowl of marinade right before assembling kebabs.
  5. Alternate placing veggies and steak on the kebabs.
  6. Grill for 8-9 minutes and rotate on the grill every couple of minutes.

 

Sweet Potato and Bacon Kebabs

 

Ingredients:
  • 3-4 large sweet potatoes
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 package of sliced bacon
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
  • ¼ tsp crushed red pepper
Directions
  1. Cut sweet potatoes into 1 ½ inch pieces and drizzle with olive oil.
  2. Slice bacon into 2-inch pieces.
  3. Mix spices together in a bowl and lay out onto a large baking sheet or clean cutting board.
  4. Alternate pieces of sweet potato and bacon onto skewers (about 5-6 pieces of each per skewer)
  5. Roll each skewer into the spice mixture and grill on medium heat for 20 minutes- rotating every 5 minutes.
